Liverworts are cool because they make little cups and have very interesting wheel-like reproductive structures.

I wish I could go back in time and see when fern allies got to be huge trees (Can you imagine a clubmoss 40 feet tall?)Tree hugginghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18269999808226336464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31740546874472774.post-11679739670426922792008-10-29T13:37:00.000-04:002008-10-29T13:37:00.000-04:00BBO - Weeeeeee! But, now and then I would pick up pieces of moss, in our woods or on paths on our property, etc., throw the clumps down here and there in the patio area, step on them (you can see this is a complex, scientific method) >:o) and then sat back and did nothing. Eventually, all the moss spread and grew together and now it is a thick moss floor. I love it because it is green in the winter. I also put moss on the little wooded slope outside of our living room window. It looks so lush. Sometimes i pick moss to line pots of forced bulbs in the spring. Your moss is beautiful and I love your terrarium. It's such a great idea. The vinca should do fine over the winter as well.

But scooping up a little moss for a terrarium wouldn't hurt it - for an indoor showing!Traceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07639107052866905283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31740546874472774.post-9339656760397251562008-10-26T17:23:00.000-04:002008-10-26T17:23:00.000-04:00Does moss die back during the winter? I have moss in a hanging basked outside, with a bit of vinca too, so it can hang down. Maybe I should bring that in for winter as well.Silviahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18258194238677454294noreply@blogger.com
