Distracted and Daydreaming

Busy, busy in the garden. Not enough time in the day, what with that Job-Thing getting in the way. Ugh. My Job-Thing doesn't jive with my What-Makes-My-Heart Sing-Thing. Something for me to chew on, as per usual . . . anyway, this is what I daydream about while I'm crunching numbers in the office. Life and garden activity out in Sugar Hollow.

Sprouting in the raised beds: Bloomsdale spinach, Easter Egg radishes, lettuce (Red Oak Leaf, Buttercrunch and Bronze Mignonette), Dwarf Blue Scottish kale, scallions, Crimson rhubarb, sugar snap peas, arugula, Caribe potatoes

Holding steady in seedling flats in the house: Six varieties of heirloom tomatoes, shasta daisies, globe amaranth, geranium cuttings

Desperately waiting to be transplanted: native plant sale finds, sweet and hot peppers, herbs

To be sprinkled/sown: french filet beans, zinnias, cosmos, sunflowers, bachelor buttons, nigella, marigolds, morning glories, moonflowers, cypress vine, corn, squash, pumpkins, black-eyed susans, echinacea, wild bergamot, scabiosa

Settling into their new digs in my container garden: alyssum, sweet potato vine, lobelia, snapdragons, black-eyed susan vine, bacopa, helichrysum, strawberry plants, forget-me-nots, nasturtium

Garden-related projects: building the pea trellis (photos to come!), making seed balls, mixing more potting soil, finishing painting my blue bench, prepping the native plant bed, working on my container garden mosaic . . .

When I put my feet up: The most recent issue of The Herb Quarterly, Gaia's Garden - a great book on permaculture, season two of Entourage (guilty pleasure!), Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, organic blueberry pie from the hippie food store, couch time with Corey and the little woofers, Shiatsu visits with Lindy . . .

Being totally ignored: Bills, vacuuming, laundry . . . food, clothing, shelter . . .

What a wonderful post! Now move over and pass me a piece of that pie. I am so ready for blueberry season.

Oh - thanks so much Katie!!
C'mon over - there's plenty to go around. Besides, my basically putting the pie plate on my lap with a fork in-hand is just too pathetic of an image!
