My mom used to make a blackberry sauce over peaches in the summer. I would skulk around the kitchen, waiting out the allowable amount of time for my dad and brothers to take their share. Once that expired, I would go in for the kill.
Make a simple sauce by placing the blackberries in a saucepan with ample amounts of sugar. Heat until everything gets soft. I'll usually use a fork to mash the blackberries. Some people like to strain out the seeds and such. I'm too lazy/impatient for that.
Cut up a ripe peach into slices (I like to cut the skin off of it first). Drizzle the blackberry sauce over the slices.
Offer up a prayer for simple pleasures and enjoy.
