Recipe: Watermelon Slushie

I snagged this recipe from one of those get-in-shape, doctor's waiting room magazines.

Three cups of cut up pieces of chilled watermelon
Juice of half a lemon
2 teaspoons of sugar (or to taste)

Throw it all in a blender. Garnish with mint sprig.

This slushie tastes exactly like a watermelon Marino's Italian Ice - out of Queens, New York. A big treat in my youth. More importantly, it tastes like the syrup-y part of the ice. What you would work towards with that little wooden paddle-spoon and where all the sweetness settled at the bottom. That is what I'm tawkin' about.

Oh, yeah. And all that taste without Red #40.

Hi all - Thank you so much - and thank you for including me in The Carnival.

You know what I really love about this recipe? Super easy with very little clean up.

Also, if you want it more 'slushie' than 'juicy' - add a little ice and tad more sugar.
