Shade and Stone

100-degrees here today. So, I'm thinking about the inviting and comforting garden elements I would love to have in the Hollow for summertime survival. Shaded pathways, cool places to sit, ferns, a natural grotto. At home with the moss. With the damp rocks and stones. And, as my friend Kris says, "With the salamanders."

I love shade gardens, which is a good thing since that is the bulk of my back yard! The stone fence is lovely...I might try that one out!

I would just adore having a stone wall like that!

100 degrees here, too!
My wee littles are going crazy inside!

Hi ladies!

Yes, I have a huge weakness for stone walls. In my parents' town, a family built a deep stone wall in front of their house and planted things in the little nooks and crevices. Needless to say, I visit it everytime I am up in New York. Maybe I'll get a picture next month . . . so we can all drool.
