Margaret Roach: rock star gardener, writer, alum of Martha Stewart Magazine (she was their first gardening editor). She has started a blog - A Way To Garden: Horticultural How-To (and Woo Woo). It couldn't come at a better time, as I am foisting myself up by my bootstraps and thinking about taming parts of the landscape in Sugar Hollow to become garden rooms with moods and texture and shade and, and, and (!).
These are photos of Margaret's garden in upstate New York. Ponds, stonework, grassy pathways, outbuildings. It is good to be reminded of what I love in a garden and what I might want in my own.

Tracey, thank you for featuring Margaret' blog. I had no idea - and now I'll visit there all the time. So thankful. I have loved her work and writing ever since I started reading MS many years ago. Her book A way to garden" is my gardening bible - I have read it from cover to cover several times... Best wishes.
I was just given a copy of Margaret's book, A Way to Garden, and I am loving it! She has such a great style of writing--just as if we are old friends sitting on a front porch drinking lemonade and having a nice chat. And the pictures are just lovely and inspiring.
You can all come for pink lemonade whenever you are in the 'hood, but bring your weeding gear!
