DIY :: Clove-Spiked Oranges

Anyone else make these during their childhood?

Just take an orange, tangerine or clementine and push whole cloves through their skin (whole cloves have a ready-made spike on one end). The smell is fantastic and energizing during the middle of winter. Children will have fun creating designs or faces . . . we made a swirl and a star-of-sorts.

Oh yes, I used to make them whe I was a kid. I made one this year with an orange. Tried to put as many cloves in as I could before fingers started hurting...smelled fabulous!

I did! Thanks for reminding me of that childhood joy. I will be making them with the kids next year.

I love these, and how my fingers would smell so delicious afterward.

I love to make clove spiked oranges. The smell is divine. One year we made a bunch and hung them from red ribbons in the kitchen window. Happy new Year!
