The Small Stuff

Our gardens are producing on a small scale this year, but it seems to suit us. Salad greens for a salad most nights. A handful of radishes. Chives and one shiitake mushroom. And oregano that contributed to an outstanding Flounder Oreganata for Saturday supper. Transporting me back to New York and favorite Italian restaurants with each bite-ful.

I hope your hard work in your gardens is giving a little back to you this Mother's Day weekend!

Oh, its the best time right now. Everything is so fresh, and full of wonderful surprises. I spent mothers day at edible landscapes, with my youngest in tow. It was a treat. Came back with a car full of blueberries and raspberries! Did you grow the shiitake?

It may be one shiitake, but what a shiitake that is! Maybe it's just the size of your cutting board, but it looks massive. Lovely photos, as always.

Lotta - Have I mentioned how thrilled I am that you got out to Edible Landscaping?! Happy Mother's Day to you, too!

GG - Your comment got me to laugh out loud - that is a *wee* cutting board. But, yes, a shiitake is a shiitake!!
