Last week, I splurged for a $10 flower press. I harvested the remaining stalwarts of our fan flowers and some bits of ferns for my first test. The pansies that are out and about in people's gardens right now would also be lovely when dried.
This is a great end-of-the-season project and a nice foil to the heavier work that lies before me - labor-intensive cleaning up of the garden.
I'm not even sure how I may use these flowers - the little kid in me just wants to see how they turn out. How they are preserved.

I love playing with my daughter's flower press. Now you have to make your own paper to put them in!
Ooooooo! Homemade paper . . . I can't imagine being able to do that. Too cool . . .
