Thankful Out In Sugar Hollow

For a healthy, goofy, chunky Willa May. For a patient, loving husband. For a warm house and an upcoming long weekend in front of the woodstove. Lots of cooking and knitting baby legwarmers (I have finally tackled double-pointed needles and knitting in the round - thank you YouTube!) and, oh yes, movies. A hike here or there to get the appetite going and inhale some fresh Blue Ridge Mountain air. Time with my brother, Chris. With the rest of our families on my mind, making me smile.

LISH will take a break for the long weekend, too. We haven't been getting much sleep as of late. A teething Willa - compounded by a cold and a cough - has made for restless nights and exhausted parents. I found myself wimpering at 3 a.m. last night - struggling with sleep deprivation. I am hoping a nap or two is in my future over the next few days.

If I can, I may get outside for a gardening chore or two. Maybe shredding leaves and planting bulbs when the moment strikes me. Cleaning out my gardening supplies. Making more applesauce and other recipes with persimmons.

Safe journeys, my friends, if you are traveling. Hope your Thanksgiving is nurturing and restful in the simplest of ways.
